LOOKING BACK

One year ago today we were pulling into the CAT scan place and I said to my father jokingly “If I have a tumor and they shave my head and I have to get a wig, you are gonna get me the best wig they make!” ha ha ha. Really though I was just concerned they might need to give me an IV.I look back now, and I had no idea how right I was…

A year ago today
I was in a wheelchair
I couldn’t drive
I couldn’t type
It took me at least 30 minutes to put pants on
I could not zip or button any pants
I couldn’t hook my bra
I fell down-a lot
I was running into everything
Any uneven surfaces such as stairs were very difficult.

I wrote this list out to remind myself how far I have come. Sometimes I get so caught up in all the things that I can’t do right now, and things that I have lost that I forget about all the things that I have gotten back. I thank God every day for all the gains I have made and I plan to make many many more!!! I look at my life and I am stunned and grateful for all the love and support I have had from the very beginning. I am truly blessed to have friends such as you!!!!
